Port Macquarie #IMOZ #70.3 #2109
What a day..... so proud of these guys....
.
.
.
.
Thanks to all the family & friends that supported the Athletes throughout the day, cheering non-stop the entire day into the night !!
.
.
So proud to watch you execute a day that as in all Ironman events has it turns & challenges, but they rolled with the punches & got the job done
.
.
Some #pb’s in the swim & well what can I say about the bike leg, but those cross winds through a 🔧 in the works, @ryanboslem @martywombat get the winds in one lap on the #70.3 but still held in with a solid run & both held on to post some great times, Marty stepping up from #2018
Ryan still out doing his goals & improving overall onhis 70.3 goals.
.
.
Now the #Ironman athletes had it for 2 laps & it only got stronger as the day went on !! So head Down & pedalling along holding on as much as possible for the 180km !!
.
.
It hurt the 70.3 athletes legs, but now 42.2k after that well down difficult Port Mac Bike course with his terrain, hills + the wind 😳
.
.
The boys hit the Run course, each having different approaches & chasing different times & goals, but they all had a look of determination & some smiles on the faces
1. The knew what was ahead so they knew what they had to do for it to get done
2. Some smiles on the faces embracing the day & the challenges making it easier to get through the pain & suffering what laid ahead !
.
.
Sadly had to head back for the @wflworldrun in Newcastle so left when some were in the final lap or had were half way...
.
.
Missed the finish line glory, but that was their glory !! Getting updates and continue to track them all the way, was so proud of you all and thank you for the opportunity to witness the incredible display of toughness & drive yesterday !!!
.
.
Anthony Landers smashes the bike and executed a solid run, head was done and Williden f to hurt all the way!
Steve Quick solid swim to kick it off and looked focused and pushed through...
Brendan Trummel yes the run hurt, you had a great swim & was tracking well halfway into the bike and then just had to hold on in the run, used it the best you could
Duncan Adams out on the bike looking strong and yes like them all had to put the head down and just battle the conditions and then try & run off the that bike leg, but ticked it along hurt and could see that determination in the face to do everything you could to let that finish line the best you could !
Nick Riley smiled all day and ticked all the boxes along the way, getting it done, in your happy place
Scott Sullivan having a trip to Port Douglass & the a hike in Nepal 3 weeks out but you knew what to do, it was your mental strength that was going to get you through it and that you did, the bike you smashed it along and the run ticked it along breaking it down and great job achieved
Mick Tolhurst started with a on Swim, he trains alone mostly so get down & dirty to battle through the tough day was not going to be a problem and it showed, great performance
Christopher Howson on a debut and well got it all done one step at a time, ticking through the kms, but in the run he looked good and had the legs to turn over with a great result in his debut !!
Toby Lowe leading in to this event was tracking really well and was excited for what he could lay down and handle the big step up into Ironman, was a tough day and dig deep to get through the pain to finish with a massive smile on his face.
Darren Gow what a massive achievement for you on your debut, smiles all day and took it all in your stride, still seeing that smile on the run & an even bigger smile over that finish line!!! So happy to see you cross that line, managing everything all day !!
Andre Bremmer picking up a foot injury 2 weeks out, the fear was at level 9 but managed it well leading into the event, but what niggle ?? Executed a great run and finished strong well done an amazing race
Enjoy the recover today & looking forward to hearing more of the stories and break down of all your races in your words !!!!
